WindPDF is a product of DRIME SAS. The English version is currently the primary authoritative text. When a French version is published, the French version will become authoritative.
1. Scope of Application
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of WindPDF (the "Service"), a web-based PDF editor and related tools accessible at windpdf.com and related domains. WindPDF is a product published and operated by DRIME SAS, simplified joint-stock company (Société par actions simplifiée), SIRET 999 702 954 00010, with registered office at 6 chemin du Georgillet, 74500 Évian-les-Bains, France.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, whether using free features, guest access, a limited trial, or any paid subscription. These Terms may be modified at any time. The Terms in effect are those published on the Service at the time of use. We will notify registered users of any material changes to these Terms at least 30 days before they take effect.

3. Access to the Service
3.1 Free and guest access
Many PDF tools on WindPDF can be used without creating an Account. Guest or browser-based processing may run locally on your device. Certain features (for example AI tools, cloud save, or advanced quotas) may require an Account, a limited trial, or a paid plan.
3.2 Account
To access enhanced features, you may create an Account by registering with an email address and password, or by authenticating through a supported third-party service. When creating an Account, you must:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be at least 13 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction)
Account credentials are strictly personal and may not be shared with third parties.
3.3 Service availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the Service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
4. Service Functionality
4.1 PDF tools
Subject to plan limits and technical constraints, the Service may allow you to:
- Edit text, images, and annotations in PDFs
- Convert documents to and from PDF and other formats
- Merge, split, compress, rearrange, flatten, protect, unlock, sign, and redact PDFs
- Run OCR on scanned documents
- Use AI-assisted features (summarize, chat with PDF, generate documents, and similar tools)
- Store documents in your WindPDF cloud drive when you choose to save them
4.2 Local processing and cloud storage
Many tools are designed to process files in your browser. Files are uploaded to our servers only when a feature requires server-side processing (for example certain conversions or OCR) or when you explicitly save Content to your WindPDF cloud drive. Cloud files are stored on Cloudflare R2 infrastructure located in Europe.
4.3 AI features
AI features may send document text or prompts to our systems and subprocessors solely to provide the requested output. AI outputs may be inaccurate; you remain responsible for reviewing results before relying on them. AI usage may be limited by free guest credits, trial allowances, or subscription quotas.
4.4 Hosting infrastructure
Application servers for WindPDF are operated by DRIME on Hetzner infrastructure in the European Union. File storage for cloud-saved Content uses Cloudflare R2 in Europe.
5. User Obligations
5.1 Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:
- Upload, process, or share any Content that violates applicable laws, infringes intellectual property rights, contains malware, is defamatory or abusive, violates privacy rights, or constitutes illegal content
- Use the Service for fraud, spam, or interference with the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access, reverse engineer, or use automated systems to abuse the Service without authorization
- Circumvent usage limits, paywalls, or security controls
5.2 Content responsibility
You are solely responsible for all Content you upload, create, or process through the Service. We do not systematically review user Content, except as necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforce these Terms, protect the security of the Service, or respond to abuse reports.
5.3 Prohibited Content
We reserve the right to remove or disable access to Content that violates these Terms or applicable law, without prior notice, and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these Terms.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Service ownership
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including software, technology, designs, and branding (except user Content), are owned by us or our licensors.
6.2 User Content
You retain all rights to Content you upload or create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, transmit, and process the Content as necessary to provide the features you request. This license ends when the Content is deleted from our systems, subject to residual backups and legal retention requirements.
6.3 License to use the Service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms. This license may be revoked for violation of these Terms.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in the Privacy Policy.
Key privacy commitments:
- Cloud-stored files are kept in Europe (Cloudflare R2)
- We do not sell your personal data
- We implement security measures to protect your data
- You can request deletion of your data at any time
8. Security
8.1 Our security measures
We implement industry-standard security measures appropriate to the Service, which may include HTTPS/TLS in transit, encrypted storage for cloud files, secure session management, password hashing, and access controls.
8.2 Your responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, using strong passwords, enabling available security features, and keeping your devices secure. You remain responsible for Content you process and for verifying outputs (including AI outputs and redactions or signed documents) before use.
9. Subscriptions, Trials, and Purchase Terms
9.1 Paid plans
The Service offers paid subscriptions providing advanced features, higher quotas (including AI credits), and related benefits. Plans and prices shown at checkout (including any limited trial offer) apply. Prices are displayed inclusive of applicable taxes (including French VAT where applicable), unless stated otherwise.
9.2 Limited trial
Where offered, a paid plan may begin with a limited trial (for example a short introductory period at a trial price or with trial access). Trial duration, trial price (if any), and the recurring price after the trial are shown at checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription auto-renews at the then-applicable recurring rate (typically billed monthly, or annually if you selected an annual plan). You may cancel anytime from your account settings or by contacting us.
9.3 Payment terms
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We accept credit/debit cards and other payment methods offered by Stripe. Recurring subscriptions are billed on each renewal date until cancelled.
9.4 Right of withdrawal
In accordance with Articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, if you are a consumer you have a period of fourteen (14) days from the date of subscription or purchase to exercise your right of withdrawal, without having to justify reasons or pay penalties.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, notify us by email at contact@drime.cloud, clearly stating your wish to withdraw. The refund will be made within fourteen (14) days of receiving your request, using the same payment method as the initial transaction.
If you have started using paid features during the withdrawal period, the refund amount may be reduced proportionally to the usage made.
9.5 Refund policy
Beyond the 14-day withdrawal period:
- Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable for the current billing period
- Annual subscriptions are generally non-refundable on a pro-rata basis after the withdrawal period
- Trial fees already charged may be handled according to the withdrawal rules above and the offer terms shown at checkout
9.6 Subscription cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting contact@drime.cloud. For recurring subscriptions, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to paid features until then.
9.7 Price changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices for new purchases and renewals. Material price changes will be communicated to subscribers at least 30 days before they take effect. If you disagree, you may cancel before the effective date.
Additional purchase terms applicable to other DRIME products may appear on drime.cloud Terms of Sales.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 Service availability
We provide the Service "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, free from harmful components, or available at all times.
10.2 Limitation of damages
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities; loss or corruption of Content; unauthorized access to Content; or damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
10.3 Exceptions
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold us harmless from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any rights of another party, or Content you upload or process.
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by you
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may also delete your Account and request deletion of your data by contacting us.
12.2 Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in illegal activity, use the Service in a manner that harms us or other users, or fail to pay fees for paid services.
12.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, and we may delete your Account and associated data in accordance with our retention policies. Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect.
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13.2 Jurisdiction
If you are a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence or in French courts. If you are a business, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of France.
13.3 Alternative dispute resolution
Before initiating legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us to resolve disputes amicably. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/
14. General Provisions
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

- Severability. If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Waiver. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
